Vasan is the latest politician to have called on the father and brothers of Anitha. Speaking to reporters after consoling the family, Vasan said that Anitha had not committed suicide, but had sacrificed her life for a cause and therefore, her death should not be criticised. He also urged other parties not to politicise her death. “She had secured good marks, but she could not get medical seat as she could not cope up with NEET. Both, the central and state governments are responsible for her death,” charged Vasan.

Appealing to the judiciary to stand for the development of the society, Vasan asked both the Centre and state to reform the educational system, based on current needs. Meanwhile, he appealed the government to disburse a compensation of one crore rupees and government jobs for her four brothers. Urging political parties to fight for justice, he further added that TMC will always stand with those who fight for

justice.
