

CHENNAI: Over 1.48 lakh candidates out of 4.20 lakh have cleared the Tamil Nadu Teachers' Eligibility Test (TET) conducted in November 2025.
Meanwhile, the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) has directed candidates that the results will be available from February 2. The eligibility certificate can be downloaded from trb.tn.gov.in.
In Paper I, 91,072 candidates appeared for the exam, and 44,770 of them cleared (49.16 per cent), and 46,032 (50.84 per cent) failed the exam. In Paper II for social science, 1,42,861 wrote the exam. Among them, 32,554 (22.8 per cent) passed, and 1,10,307 (77.2 per cent) failed.
In mathematics and science subjects combined in Paper II, 1,86,878 wrote the exam. Of them, 71,608 (38.3 per cent) passed, and 1,15,270 (61.7 per cent) failed the test.
The November 2025 test was conducted after a two-year gap. Candidates clearing the exam and subsequent interviews will be eligible to teach classes from 1 to 10 in Tamil Nadu, as per the minimum qualification set by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
Meanwhile, in recent development, the TRB revised the pass mark for Scheduled Caste (SC) /Scheduled Tribe (ST) to 40 per cent or 60 marks out of 150 marks in both Paper I and II to qualify.
For candidates from Backwards Class (BC), Backward Class Muslim (BC (M) ), Most Backward Class (MBC), Denotified Communities (DNC) and Persons with Disability (PwD), they must secure 50 per cent or 75 marks in both Paper I and II.
