

CHENNAI: Former chief secretary Shiv Das Meena described Tamil Nadu as his 'karma-bhoomi' that shaped his public life, while Rajasthan remained the birthplace that gave him values and culture. He was speaking after receiving the Rajasthan Shree Award 2025 on Sunday.
Addressing the gathering at the Rajasthan Ratna and Rajasthan Shree Awards ceremony organised by the Rajasthani Association Tamil Nadu in Chetpet here, Meena said wherever one goes, one must contribute to the development of that land and leave behind a reputation rooted in service and integrity.
The 16th edition of the awards was held at Lady Andal Auditorium, where former Jharkhand High Court Chief Justice M Karpagavinayagam was the chief guest and Advocate General PS Raman the guest of honour.
Along with Meena, the Rajasthan Shree Award was presented to jewellery entrepreneur Kishore Kumar Jain for CSR initiatives and to social leader Praveen Tatia for decades of work for the community and the society.
Rajasthan Ratna awards were conferred on Pyarelal Pitaliya for establishing a charitable maternity hospital facilitating nearly 600 safe deliveries every month, and on Dr Sunil Shroff, a leading urologist, for performing over 30,000 complex urological surgeries.
RAJAT president Narendra Srisrimal said the awardees were chosen from over 70 nominations received.
