TN Coastal districts to get moderate rain on Dec 26

CHENNAI: The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has forecast an upper air cyclonic circulation over the equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining the southwest Bay of Bengal at 1.5 km above mean sea level. Under its influence, light to moderate rain is likely to occur at isolated places over the coastal districts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on December 26.

According to the RMC, the sky condition is likely to be partly cloudy in Chennai, and early morning hours are likely to experience mist or haze till December 25. The minimum temperature will be around 22 degrees Celsius up to December 24. Furthermore, the temperature is likely to dip to 21 degrees Celsius between December 25 and December 27.

On Sunday, “Kanniyakumari recorded the highest maximum temperature of 31.1 degrees Celsius over Tamil Nadu. Tirupattur has the lowest minimum temperature of 15.0 degrees Celsius in the plains of Tamil Nadu.”

The weather bulletin said, “Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at isolated places over the Delta districts and Karaikal area. Dry weather is likely to prevail over the rest of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry areas till December 25.

Also, light to moderate rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Coastal Tamil Nadu and Puducherry areas. Dry weather is likely to prevail over interior Tamil Nadu on December 27.”
