Vellore Aavin issued the ads in the name of the Vellore-Tiruvannamalai district Cooperative Milk Producers Union, which was carried by two vernacular dailies. In one ad, it sought applications for 24 senior factory assistants posts, stating that the place of posting would be in both Vellore and Tiruvannamalai districts. Signed by the Vellore Aavin GM, it stated that details regarding age, qualification and mode of selection could be obtained by accessing the Aavin website.
Another ad carried by both the dailies was for the posts of four senior administrators including Deputy Manager (dairying), Deputy Manager (DE), LVD and lab executives. Also signed by the Vellore GM, the last date for applying for the various posts in the two ads was September 20.
What irked the Tiruvannamalai Aavin staff was that following the chief minister announcing the bifurcation of the Vellore/Tiruvannamalai Aavin into separate units for both districts, a new chairman and general manager took charge for the Tiruvannamalai unit a week ago.
Tiruvannamalai Collector KS Kandasamy confirmed that former minister Agri Krishnamurthy was made chairman and Rudran was GM for the new unit and that both had assumed charge.
“When new officials have taken charge in Tiruvannamalai, how can the Vellore Aavin office issue ads for both districts,” Tiruvannamalai unit staff wanted to know.
Asked about this, Vellore Aavin officials said the ad was issued on the orders of top officials of the Chennai Aavin Federation.
