Law Minister CVe Shanmugham had openly informed his supporters that vested interests are trying to create a fissure in the party and freeze the party symbol of Two Leaves. This is something to think over and the frictions are wide open within the party for aligning with the BJP.
Joint co-ordinator KP Munusamy had also spoken about how national parties have been a threat to the political culture of Tamil Nadu, the AIADMK senior said.
“In my view, Sasikala’s release will certainly have an impact in TN and the AIADMK will certainly take pre-emptive measures to curtail the migration of party workers from AIADMK to AMMK,” opined Professor Ramu Manivannan, head, Department of Political Science, University of Madras.
There will be frictions and factions in AIADMK because of Sasikala and BJP. Not all party workers are happy with the alliance with BJP and for a section of AIADMK workers the national party is a baggage in Tamil Nadu and the coming month will witness more political dramas, Ramu Manivannan added.
Meanwhile, the rebel AMMK led by RK Nagar MLA TTV Dhinakaran is also gearing up for the release of the ousted AIADMK leader Sasikala.
“Our party leader is expected to be released after Pongal and there will be MLAs and Ministers wishing to see chinnamma. We are planning to host a gala reception for Sasikala and functionaries will tailgate the leader from Karnataka prison,” said an AMMK district secretary.
