TIRUCHY: A nurse at Thanjavur Medical College Hospital was suspended on Tuesday for administering saline to a patient in a standing position.

According to the sources, many patients have been raising complaints alleging passive and rude attitude from the hospital staff. On Tuesday, nurse R Ranjitha was seen administering saline IV without a stand and asking the patient’s attendant to hold it.

She also reportedly hurled abuses when one of the attendants asked for a stand. The frustrated attendant videographed the ordeal and uploaded it online.

Dean Dr Boopathy temporarily suspended and recommended departmental action against Ranjitha.
