OOTY: The Tamil Nadu Forest Department has intensified efforts to capture a suspected man-eating tiger that killed two people in the Nilgiris district this month, an official said.

Forest personnel have deployed three thermal drones, set up six cages at strategic locations and installed 50 camera traps across the forested terrain to track and capture the animal.

More than 80 forest personnel, divided into two specialised teams, have been deployed for continuous monitoring and combing operations in forest-fringe areas affected by the tiger's presence.

Gudalur Forest Officer Devaraj on Sunday advised residents to exercise extreme caution and avoid venturing outdoors late at night or in the early morning until the tiger is captured.
