Tamil Nadu announces shuffle among police officials

CHENNAI: Several Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) in the Greater Chennai Police have been reassigned in a major statewide reshuffle ordered by the home department of Tamil Nadu government.

The changes, effective immediately, include: T. Eswaran posted as DCP (Traffic), Avadi Police Commissionerate; I. Eswaran, formerly SP of Railways, Chennai, posted as DCP, Anna Nagar; R. Uthayakumar posted as DCP, Koyambedu; and Sujit Kumar transferred as DCP (Traffic), Chennai West. Furthermore, R. Sughasini, DCP (Traffic), West, has been moved to the post of Superintendent of Police for the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB) in Chennai.

The reshuffle also involves promotions and transfers across the state. Ankit Singh and Shristi Singh have been promoted to Superintendents of Police and posted as DCPs in Salem City (North) and Tiruchy City (South), respectively.

At the inspector general of police level, S. Rajeswari, formerly Member Secretary of TNUSRB, is now IGP for Crimes Against Women and Children (CAWC) in Chennai. She replaces A. Kayalvizhi, who has been posted as IGP and Member Secretary of TNUSRB. R. V. Ramya Bharati has been posted as IGP (Crime), Chennai.

Other key postings include N. U. Sivaramani moving from DCP, North, Salem City to SP of Vellore district, while A. Mylvaganam, former SP of Vellore, is now SP of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Southern Range, Chennai. G. Nagajothi, SP of TNUSRB, has been posted as Superintendent of Police and Principal of the Police Training College in Chennai.
