Tamil Nadu: 33 PET candidates issued appointments

CHENNAI: Minister for School Education Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi issued appointment orders to 45 candidates within the department on Sunday.

The appointment orders were issued for the post of physical education (PE), tailoring and music teachers, selected through direct appointment by the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) and allocated to the School Education Department.

Candidates for the typist post were selected through the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC).

Appointment orders were issued to 33 PE teachers, 10 tailoring teachers and two music teachers.

Meanwhile, TRB in April released the results of a competitive exam conducted in July 2024 for the direct recruitment of Secondary Grade Teachers (SGTs) in the Directorate of School Education.

For filling 2,768 SGT vacancies in the Directorate of Elementary Education (DEE), TRB issued a notification in July 2024. TRB planned to conduct exams to fill 1,768 SGT vacancies and an additional 1,000 vacancies for the same post.
