“On Wednesday morning, TN police had arrested three men, part of an IS module, from Bengaluru. It looks as if Shameem had wanted to show that he could retaliate. He appears to have selected Wilson randomly to send a message to the police,” a police source said. With the Delhi police arresting Shameem’s mentor Khaja Moideen and two associates, officers expect Shameem to carry out more attacks in the coming days. The TN police are leaving no stone unturned and are racing against time to catch Wilson’s killers before they strike again. Police also believe that the killers either reached the checkpost area in an autorickshaw or on foot and attacked the policeman. Meanwhile, two people were detained in Palakkad on Friday in connection with Wilson’s death. The two were identified as Abbas and Syed Ibrahim. Both were believed to be in touch with the wanted suspects and are now being questioned by TN and Kerala police. Though Abbas and Syed hail from TN, they have been staying in Palakkad for a long period, sources said. They are also checking if the two also belong to any radical organisation. A court in Egmore on Friday gave the TN police 10-day custody of the three arrested from Bengaluru.
