CHENNAI: Six startups working across mobility, clean energy, sustainable products, logistics and tourism services have received incubation commitment letters from government-linked incubators at the Tamil Nadu Global Tourism Summit 2026.

The commitment letters were issued during the startup investment pitch session on the second day of the summit on February 3, at Mahabalipuram.

It commits incubators to extend incubation-related support services such as mentoring, business and product development guidance, ecosystem access and market linkages, in line with programme frameworks under the Tamil Nadu government's startup initiatives.

The six startups are Sprint6, Wroxai, JOL Energy, Exoticamp, Orcci Eco Products, and GoodMove Logistics.

The incubation support does not involve direct funding. Instead, it is aimed at enabling early-stage startups to refine products, strengthen business models and integrate into relevant industry and government networks.

Among the selected companies, JOL Energy works on recycling lithium-ion battery scrap to recover critical metals such as lithium, cobalt and nickel, alongside polymer-based filtration systems for industrial effluent treatment. The startup has conducted multiple pilots and filed patents linked to waste-to-resource processes.

Wroxai is developing autonomous marine mobility solutions, including technology for unmanned boats that can be used in coastal transport with the ultimate aim of assisting India's maritime operations. Sprint6 focuses on smart restroom infrastructure and hygiene management systems, while GoodMove Logistics operates in intra-city freight and logistics optimisation for small businesses.

Tourism-linked startups in the list include Exoticamp, which aggregates and manages camping and outdoor experience offerings, and Orcci Eco Products, which works on waste management and sustainability solutions relevant to hospitality and commercial establishments.

Officials said the issuance of incubation commitment letters at the summit is the broader effort to integrate startups into Tamil Nadu's tourism and allied sectors without limiting support to capital infusion alone. The approach, they said, is intended to build long-term capacity through structured incubation and institutional backing.

The Global Tourism Summit concluded on February 3 after two days of policy sessions, panels and startup-focused engagements.
