CHENNAI: Chief Minister and DMK president M K Stalin on Sunday urged party district secretaries to act with urgency and precision to safeguard the party's electoral interests.

Addressing a meeting of district secretaries held via video conference, Stalin underlined that very little time remained to intervene effectively in the ongoing electoral roll revision process.

He directed district secretaries to swiftly scrutinise the draft voters' list and ensure that all eligible voters, particularly new voters and first-time youth voters, are duly included without omissions.

Stressing the political significance of the exercise, the Chief Minister said special attention must be paid to reaching out to young voters and ensuring their enrolment, while also strengthening outreach efforts to consolidate support for the DMK.

He noted that organisational alertness at this stage would be decisive in the party's preparedness for the upcoming electoral challenges.

Stalin also called upon party functionaries to ensure the smooth and grand conduct of the DMK Women's Wing conference scheduled to be held in Tirupur on December 29.

He said the event should reflect the party's commitment to women's empowerment and serve as a strong political statement.

He further instructed leaders to begin preparations in right earnest for the next phase, including the Youth Wing conference, which is set to follow soon.
