The release of model question papers assumes significance as Class XII students this year face new syllabus.
A senior official from the SCERT said that model question papers to as many as 37 subjects for students in various streams were released. “All the question papers were prepared based on the new syllabus by a high-level team comprising teachers, academicians and experts in various fields,” he added.
With model questions papers for Class X students, who also face new syllabus this year, have already been released, an SCERT official said students could download the question papers according to their choice.
According to him, the model question papers would be available for Tamil, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Botany, Zoology, Computer Science, History, Economics, Accountancy, Commerce and Statistics.
In addition, question papers will also be available for students who pursue courses including Food Management Service, Geography, Agricultural Science, Microbiology, Nursing Theory, Nutrition and Dietetics, Textiles and Dress Designing and among others.
The official said the SCERT would also release answer key for Class XII question paper so that it would be useful for them. “In addition to the model question papers, the teacher’s manual was also uploaded,” he said, adding the manual would also act as a guide to the teachers.
The official said that during the next academic year, students would have access to the practical question papers that would be made available in video format.
He said that authorities were also planning to distribute question bank with answers to Classes X, XI and XII students through the schools. According to him, the distribution of question bank to the students in the government schools would be free of cost.
