CHENNAI: Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder S Ramadoss on Friday said that “anything can happen in politics” while responding to questions on an alliance with a front having Thol Thirumavalavan-led VCK's presence for the 2026 Assembly elections, hinting at a change in stance after the relationship with the VCK turned sour in the backdrop of the Vanniyar caste assertion route opted by the senior leader.
He said political situations were dynamic and reiterated that anything could happen in politics, responding to questions at Thailapuram after an event to receive applications from aspiring candidates.
On queries regarding a possible tie-up with actor Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), he declined to comment, saying he would not respond to speculation. He lashed out at his son, Anbumani, for joining hands with the AIADMK and praised the DMK regime's performance.
Commenting on governance, the PMK founder said the four years of DMK rule in Tamil Nadu had been good, a remark that drew attention in the context of ongoing political realignments. But Ramadoss said the PMK would align only with a political front that commits to implementing the long-pending 10.5 per cent internal reservation for the Vanniyar community.
He also announced that his daughter, Sreegandhi, would contest the 2026 Assembly elections.
