“You (Chief Secretary) are requested to appear in person in the hearing before Vice Chairman, of NCSC, at Headquarters in Delhi along with action taken report and all relevant documents, including relevant files, case diaries etc to facilitate the hearing,” read the letter that was sent by the Commission on Monday.
The issue of Murasoli office constructed on panchami land was first raised by PMK founder S Ramadoss, after DMK president MK Stalin appreciated the movie ‘Asuran’ which had panchami land as its core theme. Ramadoss questioned whether Stalin will return the panchami land for which Stalin produced land records that Murasoli office was constructed on patta land.
There was a heated debate on the issue between two leaders on social media, but it was BJP state secretary R Srinivasan, who submitted a petition to NCSC demanding the national commission to investigate the issue and to seek report on the issue. Based on the petition of Srinivasan, NCSC sought report from Chief Secretary on October 22, with in a week but as Chief Secretary did not submit a report even after 10 days, the Commission has asked Chief Secretary to appear in person by 12 pm on November 19.
