Murasoli Land Row: DMK slaps Rs 1 cr defamation notice on BJP secretary

A notice, issued by DMK organising secretary and MP RS Bharati said, BJP’s letter to the National Commission for Scheduled Caste recently had mentioned that Murasoli has been constructed on panchami land, which are false,baseless and untrue.

Also, pointing out to BJP’s allegations on social media, the DMK leader said, “Facebook requires that there be no misrepresentation or false news in its pages. As such, your actions violate the terms and conditions governingthe administration.”

“Due to the act of publishing the post relating to our client, they have suffered immeasurable mental agony and torture, which for the sake of this notice, is valued Rs 1,00,00,00 (one crore),” the notice, issued by advocate, said.

Stating that the social media post should be removed within 24 hours, the notice warned the BJP leader to refrain from repeating such “unethical acts” in future. The notice also asked the BJP leader to tender unconditional apology within 48 hours from the receipt ofthe legal notice.

“Failing which, our client will be constrained to file a civil suit claiming damages of Rs One crore from you, besides initiating appropriate criminal proceedings,”the notice said.
