Interacting with the media after flagging off a mobile TB investigation unit, which reached Vellore on Wednesday and would be in the district for two days, he said, “Vellore district will be in overall charge of the local bodies in Vellore, Ranipet and Tirupattur revenue districts, despite the latter two becoming separate districts.”
Of the 40,000 staff needed for the two-day poll, he said officials had already chosen 36,000 personnel. As the exercise would be spread for over two days, there would be no shortage of staff, he added. Referring to the TB incidence in Vellore district, the Collector said a total of 3,100 cases had been diagnosed till the end of September this year.
