CHENNAI: PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss has condemned the brutal attack on a migrant worker at Tiruttani railway station, blaming the DMK government for its "total failure" to control the spread of drugs in the State.
In a statement, Anbumani said that a young labourer from Maharashtra was allegedly attacked by four intoxicated minors wielding machetes.
The assailants, reportedly under the influence of ganja, chased him from the train and brutally assaulted him at the Tiruttani railway station, while recording the act on video and circulating it online. The victim, found unconscious with severe injuries, was rescued by the public and admitted to the hospital.
Anbumani said the incident was shocking and reflected the alarming extent of drug abuse among school-age children. He alleged that the ganja culture has peaked since the DMK came to power and recalled that he has repeatedly urged the Chief Minister since 2022 to take decisive action.
