Petitioner, Srinivasan, District Secretary, AIADMK Amma party, in his petition, had stated that they had decided to hold explanatory meeting for NEET at a ground near Tiruchy Uzhavar Sandhai on September 16. Though they have submitted their permission letter as early as September 11, police have informed that as the National minorities organisation is also holding a meeting at the same place, the permission could not be given to the AIADMK Amma party meeting.
Following that they had decided to postpone the meeting to September 19 and had submitted a letter to police for which they have not received a reply. Hence the court should direct the police to issue permission to conduct the meeting at the ground near Uzhavar Sandhai on September 19, prayed the petitioner.
When the petition was heard by Judge Sundar, the PP argued that the office of a political party is located opposite Uzhavar Sandhai and there is also a hospital located close to it. Also, renovation works are going on in the ground due to which permission was not given. However, petitioner argued that when permission for other meetings are given, why not permission should for their party.
