CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Sunday inaugurated the two-day Global Investors Meet (GIM) 2024 and said that the government led by him would extend support to them in all possible ways and respect the sentiment of the investors.

Declaring open the meet which saw industry captains from around 50 countries and diplomats of several nations converge to explore their opportunities in the state, Stalin said, "Dear investors! You have come from several countries to the most peaceful and investor friendly Tamil Nadu to invest and offer job opportunities to the youths of the State."

"The Tamil Nadu government I lead will be supportive to you in all possible ways. It will respect your sentiments. Will extend all possible help to set up a business because this is the Dravidian model government which walks the talk. Come. Invest. Make your generous contribution to the development of Tamil Nadu and India," Stalin appealed to the investors at the packed convention hall of Chennai Trade Centre.

"Through this conclave, the economy of Tamil Nadu will grow. Through that, the Indian economy will grow," he added, after unveiling the vision of the US one trillion economy report of the State government.

Announcing among the investors that they have resolved to make Tamil Nadu the leader in all sectors and a model for other states.

Accordingly, the State government has been offering red carpet to investors during the last couple of years.

Speaking at the conclave, Union Minister of Industry and Commerce Piyush Goyal said that the comprehensive development of India was a testament to the transformative leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and forward-thinking policies over the last ten years.

"I am delighted that Tamil Nadu is an integral part of that progressive mission to take TN forward on a fast track in a mission mode to align with the country's growth and aspirations of 1.4 billion Indians," Goyal said.

Adding that India, barely ten years ago, was one of the fragile five economies, the union minister said that India has seen a journey in the last ten years from being a fragile five to the fifth largest economy of the world.
