CHENNAI: Indian Railways has extended the operation of several special trains beyond their original period, allowing them to continue running through late February 2026.
The extensions cover services linking Tamil Nadu with Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka and Odisha, with no change in existing timings or stoppages.
The Kacheguda–Madurai Express Special, which runs on Mondays, will continue services from February 2 to February 23, completing four additional trips. The return train on Wednesdays has been extended up to February 25.
The Hyderabad–Kanniyakumari Express Special, operating on Wednesdays, will run from February 4 to February 25, while the return service on Fridays will continue from February 6 to February 27.
The Narasapur–Tiruvannamalai Special will operate on Wednesdays between February 4 and 25, with the return service running on Thursdays from February 5 to 26.
East Coast Railway has extended the Sambalpur–Erode Special for four Wednesday services in February, departing Sambalpur at 11.35 am and reaching Erode at 10.50 pm the next day. The return service from Erode at 2.35 pm on Fridays will also operate on four corresponding dates.
The Visakhapatnam–SMVT Bengaluru Special, which runs via Katpadi and Jolarpettai, will continue to operate on four Sundays in February, departing Visakhapatnam at 3.20 pm. Its return service from SMVT Bengaluru at 3.50 pm will run on the following Mondays.
