CHENNAI: Milk and Dairy Development Minister C Vijayalakshmi on Monday raised an issue against a DMK MLA, alleging that he had made derogatory remarks about Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay and Industries Minister S Keerthana at a public meeting. The controversy concerns the use of a singular when referring to the minister.
During Zero Hour, Vijayalakshmi said the DMK MLA had spoken in a disrespectful manner about the Chief Minister and the Industries Minister at the public meeting. "It was highly condemnable, and the Speaker should take action in this regard," Vijayalakshmi said.
Replying to the minister, Speaker JCD Prabhakar said that minister N Anand had also raised the issue with him personally. He assured her that he would make an appropriate decision after hearing the speech and determining whether the remarks were disrespectful to the minister and the Assembly.
Speaking at the public meeting, DMK MLA Durai Chandrasekaran said that the Industries Minister had claimed in the Assembly that all the achievements belonged to the TVK-led government, whereas they had actually been implemented by the DMK government.
