CM Stalin lays stone for slew of infra projects at Kolathur

CHENNAI: Chief Minister MK Stalin inaugurated a new marriage hall and unveiled a statue of former Chief Minister CN Annadurai in the Kolathur constituency on Thursday. He also laid the foundation stones for a school building and a subsidised grocery store as part of the area's development.

At a public function, Stalin inaugurated the "Anna Thirumana Mandapam," a three-floor marriage hall built by the Chennai Corporation at GKM Colony. Constructed at a cost of Rs 25.72 crore, the 40,300-square-foot facility includes a parking area, a dining hall, a main marriage hall, and ten rooms.

The first floor has a spacious dining hall that can accommodate 435 people at a time. The second floor contains the marriage hall, while the third floor has ten rooms.

The Chief Minister then laid the foundation stone for a new building for the Government Model School in GKM Colony, to be built at an estimated cost of Rs 11.17 crore.

Under the North Chennai development scheme, he also initiated the construction of a new "Amutham" grocery shop. The Rs 6.30-crore building will feature modern amenities, including lifts, escalators, and spacious parking.

Ministers KN Nehru, PK Sekarbabu, Anbil Mahesh, and Chennai Mayor R Priya were present at the event.
