CHENNAI: Chief Minister M K Stalin on Tuesday paid tributes to Maruthu Brothers on their death anniversary and said that the final days of Mahatma Gandhi would speak volumes about the history of the "sudden patriots" who speak cunningly with venomous intentions.
In a message posted on his social media with a photograph of his garlanding the statues of Maruthu Brothers in the city, Stalin quoted the famous statement of British colonel Mr Welsh about the Boomerang throwing skills of the Maruthu Brothers and said that about Rs 34 lakh was allocated for erecting the statue of the brothers as soon as the DMK regime was formed and the statue unveiled.

"Poet Bharathiyar had only described this 'Godse gang' as pretentious Swadeshis, " the CM added.
