TIRUCHY: More than 200 cadres from O Panneerselam camp joined DMK in the presence of the minister SS Sivasankar in Ariyalur on Sunday evening.
AIADMK Thondargal Urimai Meetpu Kazhagam Ariyalur district secretary Vijaya Parthiban and around 100 members from Ariyalur joined the DMK. The DMK union secretaries Kennedy and Ashok Chakkaravarthi and others were present during the merger event.
While speaking among the cadres, Sivasankar said that Chief Minister MK Stalin is the only person who can preserve the dignity of Tamil Nadu. Despite the Prime Minister Narendra Modi betraying Tamil Nadu, the AIADMK general secretary has never uttered a word against him, but the Chief Minister Stalin continues to voice against the betrayal and fight for the rights of Tamil Nadu, he said.
The minister also pointed out that the AIADMK chief has been lauding the Union budget, which has announced nothing for Tamil Nadu. While everyone opposes the budget, EPS welcomes it and this is just an act of his selfishness, he said. He also stated that the AIADMK stalwarts MGR and Jayalalithaa strongly worked for state sovereignty, but EPS pledged the state to the Union government, he alleged.
