CHENNAI: A day after the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder S Ramadoss-led faction passed a resolution demanding a CBI probe over the alleged snatching of party using fake documents by his son Anbumani Ramadoss, the latter's camp has decided to hit back at the party's honorary secretary GK Mani, a close aide of the senior Ramadoss.
Anbumani faction has charged in the show-cause notice that GK Mani, an MLA from Pennagaram constituency, was involved in anti-party activities and sought an explanation on why he should not be removed from the primary membership of the party, taking exception to his actions of filing a complaint against Anbumani in Delhi and executing other tasks as party founder Ramadoss' close confidant in the internal feud.
"GK Mani’s recent actions have crossed all acceptable limits. The PMK disciplinary action committee, convened at Chennai on Wednesday, has decided to initiate action against him under clause 30 of the party’s organisational rules," a statement from Anbumani camp said.
The statement added that the show-cause notice has been issued since Mani lodged a complaint with the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Delhi, making false allegations and defamatory statements against PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss, and also for giving media interviews in this connection on December 6.
"He gave interviews to journalists in Chennai on December 15, making defamatory remarks against PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss," the statement added.
The notice directed Mani to provide an explanation within one week as to why he should not be removed from the primary membership of the party.
On December 15, Mani told reporters that though Anbumani is not the president of PMK, Anbumani goes around claiming himself to be so, causing anguish to Ramadoss.
