CHENNAI: Stepping up the attack on the ruling DMK ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections, the AIADMK has announced a new campaign titled ‘Vidiya Aatchi Veedu Bill-e Saatchi’ to highlight rising prices and inflation under the DMK government.
Announcing the campaign, roughly translated to "your household bill is the proof of DMK's misrule", AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami said Tamil Nadu has witnessed a sharp rise in inflation and essential commodity prices during the last five years of DMK governance, placing an additional financial burden on households.
He instructed all 82 district units, along with the party's IT Wing, to work in close coordination to take the campaign to households across the State.
The cadres will use hand printed bills, called ‘punishment bills’, to demonstrate the difference between its regime and the incumbent when it comes to household spending.
These documents will detail the increased expenses and losses borne by families due to price hikes under the present DMK government. The party plans to distribute them to women and also other members of the family.
Directing party functionaries to conduct a widespread awareness campaign, Palaniswami urged the cadre to intensify their efforts and work unitedly to oust the DMK regime.
