As part of the mandatory tests, testing of steam relief devices was planned for two days on Saturday and Sunday (October 19 and 20). During the test, the ambient noise level could marginally increase whenever the safety valves of the devices were opened. The tests that may last for a few minutes are planned only during the day time. This is a planned activity as per the laid-down procedures, R. Ramdoss, Training Superintendent and Chairman, Public Awareness Committee, said in a statement on Saturday.
