APL Global School (Thoraipakkam) and Anjuman School (T Nagar) finished first and second runner-up respectively in a competition where around 100 schools participated. Individual awards such as Best Goalkeeper, Best Defender and Player of the Tournament were also given away.
As the tournament drew to a close, 18 promising kids were selected for a five-day programme with FC Schalke academy coaches Kai Brock and Tom Albrecht, who have flown down to India.
Individual awards: Best Goalkeeper: N Abi N (Vels Vidhyashram, Thazhambur); Best Defender: Sirajudin (APL Global School, Thoraipakkam); Player of the Tournament: Rooney (Vels Vidhyashram, Thazhambur).
