South Korea wins team event at FIE men's sabre WC

Top seed South Korea overcame Hungary to win the team event at the first International Fencing Federation (FIE) men's sabre World Cup of the season here on Sunday.

The South Korean team, led by Oh Sang-uk, the top seed in the individual competition, defeated Hungary 45-41 in the final. Gu Bong-il, Kim Jung-hwan and Kim Jun-ho completed the winners line-up alongside Oh.

The Hungarian team was made up of Tamas Decsi, Csanad Gemesi, Nicolas Isliasz and Andras Szatmari.

The bronze medal went to the Italian team of Enrico Berre, Luca Curatoli, Aldo Montano and Luigi Samuele after they defeated Russia in the play-off for third.

China went down 45-34 to South Korea in the quarterfinals.
