

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu came up with a gallant effort but fell marginally short of pulling off a sensational win over Madhya Pradesh in the semi-finals of the men’s U-19 Elite Cooch Behar Trophy on Monday.
Set to chase a steep target of 373 from a minimum of 75 overs, TN finished at 370 for six with opener P Khush Bardia scoring 141 (174b, 11x40 and wicket-keeper M Bharath remaining unbeaten on 152 (173b, 9x4, 4x6).
The duo put on 199 runs for the third wicket in 42.2 overs. Earlier, resuming from its overnight score of 214/8, MP added a further 31 runs before getting dismissed for 245.
