The Lithuanian, in July 2019, had signed a one-year contract with CFC, which expired recently. Striker Valskis played a key part in Chennaiyin’s run to the ISL 6 final, scoring 15 goals and assisting six. “CFC would like to thank Valskis for his time at the club and wish him well for the future,” Chennaiyin wrote on its social media handles.
“The 2019-20 ISL season would have been incomplete with his incredible goal-scoring record and the much-deserved Golden Boot.” Reports suggest that Valskis will reunite with former CFC boss Owen Coyle at Jamshedpur FC for the next couple of seasons.
