CHENNAI: AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami on Friday alleged that Tamil Nadu was being run by “four power centres” within the family of Chief Minister MK Stalin.

Addressing election campaign meetings in Jolarpettai and Ambur constituencies, the AIADMK leader said governance in the State had been concentrated within a single family. He identified the four centres of power as Stalin, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, Stalin’s son-in-law Sabareesan, and Durga Stalin, alleging that they had “divided the State among themselves” and were ruling it.

Calling upon voters to use the upcoming election to end what he termed "dynastic control," Palaniswami also raised concerns about law and order. He alleged that narcotic substances were being sold across Tamil Nadu and claimed that children were being affected. He further said women and girls did not feel safe in the State, adding that even elderly women faced insecurity.

The AIADMK leader criticised the ruling DMK government over electricity tariff and tax hikes. He accused the ruling party of failing to fulfil its 525 election promises, terming it a betrayal of public trust.

On the AIADMK’s alliance with the BJP, Palaniswami said the tie-up was aimed at preventing a split in votes. He also alleged that the DMK was spreading misinformation that the AIADMK would not safeguard the interests of Muslims, describing it as an attempt to mislead minority communities for political gain.

Highlighting key assurances in the AIADMK manifesto, he said the party would provide Rs 10,000 to every ration card holder, increase monthly assistance for women heads of families to Rs 2,000, and supply three free LPG cylinders annually.

Urging voters to reject what he described as “family rule and misgovernance”, Palaniswami appealed for a decisive mandate in favour of change.
