CHENNAI: Bus services operated from the Broadway terminus will be shifted temporarily to Royapuram and Island Grounds from January 7, due to renovation and infrastructure development works at the terminal.
According to an official release, buses that were operating from Broadway will function from the temporary termini set up at Royapuram and Island Grounds until the works are completed.
From the Royapuram temporary terminus, services will be operated via Kamarajar Salai, Anna Salai and EVR Salai on several routes. Buses using Anna Salai and EVR Salai will halt at the stop near Harbour MLA Office on North Fort Road to board and alight passengers before proceeding to Royapuram. Services operating via Kamarajar Salai will reach North Fort Road through Paris Corner, NSC Bose Road and Esplanade Road before heading to the temporary terminus.
Similarly, buses from Royapuram towards various destinations will stop at designated stops on North Fort Road, Esplanade Road and Raja Annamalai Mandram, depending on their routes.
From the Island Grounds terminus, buses will be operated via Beach Station, Mannadi, EVR Salai and Vepery on multiple routes. Services heading towards Island Grounds will follow revised diversions through Muthusamy Flyover, Esplanade Road, TNPSC Road and Evening Bazaar, with passenger boarding and alighting at specified stops.
On return trips, buses will again follow designated diversion points before rejoining their original routes. Authorities have advised passengers to take note of the temporary changes and use the notified boarding points for a smooth commute during the renovation period.
