Petition challenging tender for tourism exhibit dismissed in Madras High Court

CHENNAI: The Madras High Court has dismissed a petition challenging the tender issued for the 50th India Tourism and Industrial Exhibition, scheduled to be held next year at the Island Grounds in Chennai.

The petition was filed by Bengaluru-based Fun World Resorts India, whose bid for the tender was rejected by the authorities.

Aggrieved by this, the company moved HC seeking to set aside the decision. During the proceedings, additional advocate general J Ravindran, appearing for the TN government, submitted that the petitioner’s tender had been rejected after due scrutiny and in strict adherence to the tender conditions.

He pointed out that the company had failed to submit its IT returns, which was a mandatory requirement.

After examining the documents and records produced by the government, Justice N Sathish Kumar held that the dismissed the petitioner's plea to set aside rejection of the tender.
