CHENNAI: The Metro Rail will operate special services every 15 minutes from 3 am to 5 am on Sunday to cater to the participants of the Chennai Marathon.
Regular services will resume from 5 am as per the Sunday schedule. "No inter-corridor train services will be available during the special services timings. Normal train services shall resume in both corridors from 5 am," stated the press note from Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL).
The CMRL will operate special 'early Metro Rail services' during the event, providing convenient access for the participants. The special train services will operate in both corridors.
Chennai Marathon participants can use their sponsored marathon QR code ticket (distributed by the organiser) at the automatic gates on Sunday only. Additionally, for the participants, vehicle parking has also been made free for the day.
