Apart from R Ariramakrishnan, secretary of the society in Paravilikottai, the DVAC has registered cases against C Senneraj, former president of the society, three village administrative officers and a BDO.
The government in June 2016 had issued an order with guidelines for waiving small and medium farmers’ loan outstanding as on March 31 that year. The loans issued other than agricultural were not eligible for the waiver.
DVAC noted that the suspects, in pursuance of the criminal conspiracy, had submitted forged application forms for availing agricultural loans by citing crops which they did not cultivate and got the loans sanctioned.
The secretary and the president by without verifying the actual crop cultivated and VAOs by clearing forged adangal extracts helped 14 private individuals, who are also cited as accused, avail the loans.
The same FIR, registered last week, said that Selvi, former BDO of Ottapiadaram union office and present project officer at DRDA office, Sivagangai district, had sanctioned a housing loan to one Alagammal Ramasamy, who is also listed as a suspect in loan waiving case, though she had no land in her name.
The DVAC has registered the case under IPC sections of criminal conspiracy and forgery besides provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act.
