CHENNAI: IIT-M Pravartak Technologies Foundation has announced the second batch of its specialised Aviation Safety Management (ASM) programme, offered in collaboration with France’s L’École Nationale de l’Aviation Civile (ENAC), Europe’s leading aeronautics and aviation university.
The second batch, with an intake of up to 30 participants, is scheduled to commence tentatively in February 2026. Applications are open until January 31 for the programme that’s supported by global aerospace major Airbus.
Highlighting the importance of professional safety training amid the rapid expansion of India’s civil aviation sector, MJ Shankar Raman, CEO, IIT-M Pravartak, said, “The programme was designed to create safety professionals equipped with both strong technical expertise and sound operational judgement. With Batch 1 currently under way and receiving highly encouraging feedback, we’re confident Batch 2 will continue to deliver tangible value to the aviation industry.”
The ASM programme, hosted in India, is tailored to professionals from airlines, airports, air navigation service providers, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) organisations, training institutions and civil aviation authorities. Delivered by expert faculty from ENAC, France, the curriculum focuses on enabling safety managers and experts to lead, assess and continuously improve safety performance across complex aviation organisations.
Key features include a two-year blended structure with periodic in-person sessions, a six-month project or dissertation, and classes conducted by ENAC faculty travelling from France. As air transport systems grow more dynamic and interconnected, the programme places special emphasis on behavioural competencies such as leadership, communication, decision-making and assertiveness, alongside regulatory and technical knowledge.
