What was your first thought when you witnessed it?

What would we think when we see one our family members in such a situation? My thought was just the same — I have to stop it and rescue her. It was a moving train and if he had pushed me forcefully enough, I might have fallen off. But I am thinking of all these now, not back then.

Did you think your courageous act would be rewarded?

No. I thought I just did my job. In fact, I went to sleep soon after the woman was admitted to the hospital. Next morning, the department summoned me to Chennai Central. I was clueless when I reached there in plain clothes and did not expect the media to be present there.

Did you meet the woman after that?

No. I was told that she was unconscious. So I didn’t meet her.
