Talking to reporters, GIP Founder-President R S Sivaprakasam said his 27-point charter of ideas included a standard price of petrol and diesel all through the year by providing subsidy to the oil companies directly by the government, fixing the price of LPG at Rs 100, reduction in price of power tariff, education for all at Rs ten per year, medical benefits at Rs 100 per year, provision of all PDS items through ration shops at a meagre price of Rs 10, reducing the prices of essential commodities, doing away with indirect taxes, among other things.
Apart form providing easier loans to start-ups and entrepreneurs, he said setting up of industrial parks in a 100-acre area in all the 234 constituencies of the state, ensuring corruption-free regime, desilting of all lakes and canals, three acre lands to landless farmers and poor people, sale of toddy by toddy farmers, new firms to encourage exports, extension of all benefits to fishermen were the other concepts suggested by him.
Mr Sivaprakasam said he had submitted his list of suggestions that would transform the country and the state in particular, to all political parties.
He said he would support those parties accepting this list of suggestions.
Mr Sivaprakasam, who had unsuccessfully contested in the 1996 Mayoral elections, also said his party was not averse to taking the electoral plunge if the public accepted his suggestions and evince interest in contesting the polls under his party banner.
