R Navaneethakrishnan and S Rajeev Gandhi of Coimbatore have submitted on October 15, that they had forwarded and posted satirical posts and poems about the health of the ailing Chief Minister. But on October 16, they were called to the station and threatened to delete their Facebook and Twitter accounts, and not to post anything about the state of affairs prevailing in the state.
Noting that slapping of a criminal case felt as if a mini-emergency has been promulgated by the state, the duo claimed that Mahalingapuram police had registered cases against them for offences punishable under section 153(A) and 505(2) of IPS, which dealt with promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, caste and community.
