According to sources, Tamil Selvan was beaten and pushed down on the stairs of the first floor as the teacher found him sleeping during the last period, when no teacher was in the class. The boy’s parents, Arun (36), a painter and Aadhilakshmi, have four other kids. Two other children Santhosh and Sanjana, both younger to Tamil Selvan are studying in the same school.

The school authorities reportedly told the parents that the boy suffered fracture after he fell down on the stairs while fighting with another boy. The family had to rush to the school and take the boy to the hospital. When his mother questioned Tamil Sevan, he told them that a teacher pushed him down the stairs.

The school authorities reportedly collected a signature of the mother on a white paper on Friday, saying it was for the Tamil Selvan’s leave letter, and later handed over TCs for him and his brother Santhosh. They also told her not to send her daughter to school.

The incident came to light when the Vyasarpadi police reportedly failed to accept a complaint from the family and asked to accept a compensation of Rs 10,000, sources said. When the boy’s mother refused, the policemen reportedly threaten to file a prostitution case against her and also book her husband for chain snatching.
