The Veethi Virudhu Vizha 2026 at Velammal School in Mogappair brought streets to life with colourful performances, folk dances and traditional music on Sunday. The event, held annually, celebrates Tamil Nadu culture and heritage through art performances.
Every January, the performers, all decked up in vibrant costumes, take out a procession in a symbolic move to preserve the Tamil culture. This year, however, the procession did not happen.
The event also remains a source for inspiring young artists to preserve age-old cultural traditions, while also promoting various art forms.
