Chennai: Gold surges by Rs 800 on April 15, 2026; check how much it costs

CHENNAI: A day after a rise of Rs 1280 per sovereign (8 grams), gold has now increased by Rs 800 on April 15.

The yellow metal is now priced at Rs 1,14,560 per sovereign and 14,320 per gram, an increase of Rs 100.

On April 14, gold was priced at Rs 1,13,760 per sovereign and Rs 14,220 per gram.

Silver prices increase

Silver prices increased by Rs 10 to sell for Rs 275 per gram (Rs 2,75,000 per kg) on April 15. On April 14, it was priced at Rs 265 per gram.

Gold rate today vs gold rate on this day, last year

Gold remains significantly higher compared to last year. Prices have surged from Rs 69,760 per sovereign (Rs 8,720 per gram) on April 15, 2025, to Rs 1,14,560 per sovereign (Rs 14,320 per gram) on April 15, 2026, marking an increase of Rs 44,800 or about 60.8%.
