Chennai: Gold gets cheaper on June 17, 2026; check how much it costs

CHENNAI: Gold has now decreased by Rs 240 on Wednesday (June 17).

The yellow metal is now priced at Rs 1,12,240 per sovereign and 14,030 per gram, a decrease of Rs 240.

On June 16, gold was priced at Rs 1,12,480 per sovereign and Rs 14,060 per gram.

Silver prices remain unchanged

Silver prices remain stable and is sold at Rs 275 per gram (Rs 2,75,000 per kg) on June 17.

Gold rate today vs gold rate on this day, last year

Gold remains significantly higher compared to last year. Prices have surged from Rs 73,600 per sovereign (Rs 9,200 per gram) on June 17, 2025, to Rs 1,12,240 per sovereign (Rs 14,030 per gram) on June 17, 2026, marking an increase of Rs 38,640 or about 52.5%.
