CHENNAI: A 21-year-old man allegedly threw a Molotov cocktail at a house in Ayanavaram early on Friday, following a quarrel with his friend. A search is on to nab the absconding man.
According to the police, Babu, a native of Thiruvannamalai, and his friend Yuvaraj shared a hut on Solaiyamman Koil Street.
Both worked as construction labourers.
On Thursday night, an argument and a physical fight broke out between the two.
Yuvaraj left the house and Babu went to sleep.
Early on Friday, Yuvaraj returned, poured petrol on the hut and threw a Molotov cocktail at it.
The device exploded, setting the hut on fire. While Babu managed to get out, neighbours quickly brought the fire under control.
The Ayanavaram police have registered a case and launched a search for Yuvaraj.
