CHENNAI: The Chennai police seized 24 two-wheelers involved in rash driving on city roads on Christmas Eve, and booked cases against the riders.

To ensure the safety of road users and curb the menace of over-speeding and bike racing in the city, special drives are conducted during weekends and festival nights by deploying additional police personnel.

Accordingly, a special drive was conducted across the city on Wednesday night and the two-wheeler riders involved in rash driving were identified and their vehicles were seized by the traffic police personnel.

"Strict legal actions are being pursued. GCTP emphasises the importance of celebrating any festival responsibly and urges the public to cooperate in ensuring a safe, accident-free festival.
