Telegu Desam Party National President and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday gave a clarion call  to all sections of people in Andhra Pradesh to join the historic struggle for keeping Amaravati as the one and only capital of the State.

Mr. Naidu gave this call on the occasion of one year completion of Amaravati protests and recalled how this Capital city was visualised as an economic growth engine for all the 13 districts of the state besides creating huge job opportunities for the youth.

In a statement here, the former Chief Minister termed it as 'painful' to see Capital City 'Amaravati' now getting stuck in vendetta politics and eventually crumbling in ruins.

The entire country was a witness to how thousands of Amaravati area farmers sacrificed their precious, ancestral lands up to 33,000 acres. They made that supreme sacrifice of their priceless property just for the noble cause of building a glorious future for the entire State.

He said the centrally located Amaravati had immense opportunities to churn out lots of spinoff benefits for all the 13 districts.

The TDP Chief  said that at that time, all people expressed their aspirations and support by sending sacred soil and holy waters from each and every village in nook and corner of the state for building Amaravati.

The people's overall wishes gave shape to the Capital City Amaravati that was born out of the grand dreams of each and every Andhra citizen which was now lying and crumbling in ruins because of the ill-conceived plans of the Government, he lamented.

The Opposition leader in the Assembly told the people that if the agitation for protecting Amaravati was not taken forward, then everybody would become responsible for causing irreparable losses to the future generations.

Mr Naidu said, "The 3 Capitals move is just aimed at playing a dangerous game with the future and the lives of the  people of state and their progeny. There is an urgent need for all Andhras to speak in one voice for one capital." he added.

It may be mentioned here that the agitation against the shifting of Executive Capital from Amaravati to Visakhapatnam will complete one year today.
