Delhi's ruling AAP on Thursday claimed that the house of Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was "attacked by BJP goons" but the BJP denied the allegations, saying their protest was peaceful. The Delhi Police later registered a case in this regard.

BJP workers earlier staged a protest near Sisodia's residence over an alleged conspiracy to kill mayors and leaders of the party-ruled municipal corporations and staged an indefinite dharna demanding payment of dues from the Kejriwal  government.

"I strongly condemn the systematic, organised and violent attack on Dy CM Sh Manish Sisodia's home. The goons entered his house in police presence when he was away, Why is BJP getting so desperate by the day in Delhi?" Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal tweeted.

"This is a Black Day in Delhi's political history that the Home Minister is now using his party goons and Delhi Police to attack the family of Aam Aadmi Party leader and DyCM Manish Sisodia in his absence from his residence. Is this how Amit Shah will resolve  political differences?" AAP leader Atishi said in a tweet.

In a statement, Delhi Police said that based on complaint by C. Arvind, Secretary to Deputy CM, "a proper offence has been registered by Delhi Police under appropriate sections of law and investigation is going on".

It, however, said that the allegations of gate being damaged/broken was incorrect.

The Delhi Police had denied the BJP permission to hold a protest at the Deputy CM's residence, however approximately 150 workers gathered at the spot and some of them jumped barricades to enter the residence. Sisodia was not in the house during  the incident.

"We have detained six men in this regard and necessary legal action is being taken," Delhi Police PRO Eish Singhal said.

The development comes just a day after AAP alleged that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was put under a house arrest by heavy presence of Delhi Police. The Delhi Police denied the claim.
